hi all. glad to be a member here. could anyone please help me solve this
problem?
i have windows 2000 and was tying to install a program called Mass Article
Control which automatically turn your article into several.
i tried to install it and the pc said that i needed to install Windows .Netframe
3.5 but when i tried that it said the the "HeapSEtInformation" was not located
in the "Kernell32.dll---
what do i do now? how an i fix this so i can go ahead and install my software
program? i really need it to.
please help all.
thanks,
Yesterday I had two pc's to perform a system restoration on. One a
Compaq and the other a E-Machines. All went well with no errors as
usual but, The Compaq refuses to get updates from MS. I chose MS
updates vs Windows updates on both.
The Compaq will got to the update screen fine and after
choosing "Custom" it will sit for hours on end with the laser moving
and never display a list of items to update. I finally ran the SP-2
disk to give it a little better protection and hoping it would nudge
the update to start working but NOT. I even chose in updates
properties to download but allow me to choose when to install them. In
some cases I have found this works to get things started. But nothing
shows in the system tray.
The E-machines at the same time seems to work perfectly at the update
site.

Hi,
I am fairly sure this DLL does not have to be
registered.
However, you can do NO damage by trying to register
it. It will either return a "success" message of a
"fail" message.
If you want to try this go:
START > RUN > and type Regsvr32 DLL name and hit
enter. Make sure there is a space between 32 and the
DLL name.
Example: "regsvr32 riched32.dll" (without the
quotes).
Again, I say you can do NO damage to your system and
it might, might fix the problem.
Cheers,

Hi again,
A little more research (which I perhaps should have
done before) revealed that M$ has an item on this
error.

Hi there,
This DLL can be found and DL from the site below.
Open the site and look to the left top of the window
and select DLL Files.
Look to the column at the right hand side and select
"DLL FILE RO3". You will find the DLL you are looking
for in there, and you can DL it and place it in
"C:\windows\system32"
Of course your problem may not be a simple missing
file but something deeper. BTW, this DLL does not need
registering to your system, I think ;-)

Hi Dini,
I'm sure you got the pc from an intitute or office where only the
moderator is allowed to make changes in the registry. In case you
have windows XP you can try "systemrecovery" (I don't know the
english term for it. It can be found here: Start, Officeworkset and
than systemworkset and than you see "systemrecovery" (it's possible
that in english it has a specific name. If you have found this than
you "go back in time" by picking a date in the past (on the right
site you can see the changes that had been made at that particular
date; go as far back in time until you found the date that the shop
where it has been bought had put the original software on it (that
was before the moderator put in the restrictions. If you have
another windowsversion you might consider formatting the hard drive
but than you also have to install the right drivers for the VGA
screen, audio-equipment etc.
I hope you can do something with my reply.
I wish you well,

I've tried installing google earth but I get an error 1401 message,
more specifically, it refers to HK USER software . The correct HkEY is
available to anyone who can help me unravel this. Short of reinstalling
I am curious about repairing this error. All these took place after I
nailed a trojan and removed it. A remnant of it- "kill vbs"- is still
on my pc but is harmless and more or less a nuisance nag screen as the
link has been erased. Thanks for the help.
Hi!
I've just joined this group. Thank you to whoever started it!
My question is:
In Xp, I wish to open a file in any program. I click 'file' 'open' and
get the window with the thumbnails, details or whatever listing type it
comes up with.
Is it possible to choose a default of say thumbnails for .jpg files,
and details for some other directory?
TIA
Any help will be much appreciated.

Ok guys, I was over at a buddies house trying to setup IIS on an XP home box. Didnt have the right files, needed to be from Win 2K not XP Pro. So I decided to upgrade his machine instead. I have the XP Pro Upgrade CD from the Microsoft Action Pack. When it started to copy the files, it started asking for the files. It had the Directory listed as D:\i386, which is right, so I hit browse, and there is the file. Hit ok, and retry and still wont laod the file. So I restarted the comptuer and it would copy a few more file and then the same thing. Except different file. I am going back tomm with a different CD and trying again, and if I fail, I will just load XP pro from scratch but I really dont want to waste my time with this one. He doesnt really care, and I dont have the time to go out and get all the drivers he needs and stuff. Any ideas?

Most multimedia keyboards came with thier own software. You may have to install the software for the keyboard. I went the other way and installed a multimedia keyboard and had to install the software for the keyboard to get any of the features to work.
Also look in your control panel and see how the keyboard is set up. You just may have to install the driver for the keyboard. The sound card should have nothing to do with the keyboard.
Subject: Re: [windows-tips] Santa Cruz & Dell Keyboard
I have a 4 year old top of the line DELL desktop on which I just replaced the hard drive. The DELL multimedia KB has keys on it to raise/lower/mute the volume. Before the hard drive crash those keys worked great. Since the replacement of the hard drive and the reinstall of the CD the keys no longer work.
Can anyone give me a clue as to how I reactivate those keys and their screen view?
