I personally don't have any experience with Manifold or mineral veins, BUT,
that said, MapInfo Professional might do a very nice job for vector and
raster maps. It's a GIS system also. Most USGS topo maps can also be
obtained in MapInfo format which could save a whole slew of trouble for you.
I'd check out their web site if you are still in the market for other
software. It's www.mapinfo.com. We're also a partner of MapInfo
corporation so I might be able to answer a question or two as well.
Sorry I don't have any answers though.

Subject: [wintopo] manifold vector map how can i load usgs topo map
I have been looking for a vector map program so i can plot mineral
veins. i have been using terrain navigator but it did not zoom in
enough. recently we found Mainfold a vector mapping program which
looked like it would do what we wanted but i have not been able to
get any usgs topo maps to work correctly . I have been trying two
days and while i have found that the program has lots of nice
features i cant get a proper topo map to show up for the georgia ,mt
campbell section. does anyone here have any experience with this
product that could tell me the steps necessary to get the map on my
computer.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
