In WinTopo Pro this is quite easy - just click the "Vectorise Image"
toolbar button instead of the "One-Touch Vectoristion". WinTopo will
warn you that this is inadvisable, but you can click the option to
continue anyway.
In WinTopo Freeware it is also possible, but not so obvious.
When you click the "Vectorise Image" toolbar button instead of
the "One-Touch Vectoristion", WinTopo will warn that this action is
inadvisable, but does NOT give the option to continue anyway.
However, you can fool the system into doing it anyway. It's actually
quite simple...
Click the "One-Touch Vectoristion" option. You'll first see
the "Thinning..." status window with the progress bar. You need to
click the "Cancel" button on this window before it completes. It will
then be replaced with the "Vectorisation..." status window, and will
proceed to convert the filled areas into loads of lines. You may get
a quantity of warning windows come up during the process, but just
click "OK" on each and let it continue.
The result can be quite pleasing!
