The WinTopo Development Team is proud to announce the release of new versions
for WinTopo Freeware and WinTopo Pro.

You can download the new versions from our new web site at www.wintopo.com (if
the site looks green hit Ctrl-F5 to force a refresh).

As always, WinTopo Freeware is totally free and unrestricted. WinTopo Pro is
currently being held at the same price as before (£200). To upgrade from an
existing license to WinTopo Pro 3.0 is free if you bought your license within
the last year (or for academic/research users), otherwise there is a small
administration charge of £20. See www.wintopo.com/upgrade.htm for further

WinTopo Pro 3.0 - Summary of Enhancements:



Windows XP style for menus, buttons, dialogs, etc.

New Threshold HSL/HSV option on the Image menu and toolbar. This allows image
thresholding, to keep or remove pixels, by Hue, Saturation and Luminance (or by
Hue, Saturation and Value).

New Image Rotation option which can rotate the image by any angle (not just 90
and 180 degrees). Useful for an image which has not been scanned quite
straight.

New Reduce Resolution option on the Image menu. This is useful for when an
image has been scanned at an unnecessarily high resolution. In such cases,
decreasing the resolution saves much processing time, and internal memory, when
vectorising.

New Reduce Palette Colours option on the Image menu. This is useful for
reducing the memory requirement of a large image, and it can have a beneficial
effect for the other image processing options.

New Paste Image from Clipboard function. Any image placed on the clipboard
from another application can be pasted into WinTopo Pro. This enables the
vectorisation of images from PDF documents. Also the screen image can be pasted
after capture with the Prt Scr keyboard key.

New Lock Intersection Positions option for vectorisation. This ensures that
the line intersection position are not moved by the other vector enhancement
options during vectorisation. This benfits engineering style drawings, and
also output for GIS and CNC applications.

Enhanced Image Information window.

Additional support for the middle mouse button. Zoom in/out with the mouse
wheel. Pan by holding down the middle mouse button.

Larger preview images on the processing option windows.

Added commandline and batch processing option -bacT:n for setting the
background colour tolerance.

Added commandline and batch processing options -hsl:n and -hsv:n for performing
the Threshold HSL/HSV processing. Also -hsvL:h:s:v and -hsvH:h:s:v for setting
the low and high ranges for the thresholding.

Numerous efficiency tweaks throughout the software. It works even faster than
ever.

All reported bugs have been fixed. The software is extremely stable.
