NRG Systems' Jan Blittersdorf to participate in White House jobs forum Thursday
WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Peter Welch announced that Vermont business leader Jan Blittersdorf has been selected to take part in the White House Forum on Jobs and Economic Growth.
Blittersdorf, CEO and president of Vermont-based NRG Systems, will join President Obama, fellow business leaders and financial experts at the White House Thursday to discuss ideas for creating jobs and growing the economy.
Blittersdorf said, "I am thrilled to have the opportunity to go to D.C. and meet with the President and other leaders on how to get people back to work. I'll bring the voice of a small manufacturer who is dedicated to moving the country towards a renewable energy future."
Welch nominated Blittersdorf to take part in the forum because of her experience creating quality jobs in Vermont and building one of the state's most successful businesses. Founded in 1982, NRG Systems is the leading manufacturer of wind measurement systems worldwide. The company employs 110 people and creates products used in 135 countries.
"As President Obama considers options to spur the creation of new jobs, Jan's voice and experience will contribute significantly to the discussion," Welch said. "NRG Systems is known not just in Vermont but throughout the world as a technological innovator, a quality employer and a leader in the emerging green economy."

We had a great turn out at our Fall meeting. The over 35 attendees heard
presentations from Don Blanton and Mark Kreiner both of Blanton & Associates who
also graciously sponsored the meeting. Don Blanton gave an overview of macro
siting issues encountered in the construction of commercial scale wind projects.
Mark Kreiner discussed voluntary siting guidelines followed by most wind
developers and the impact of wind development on bats and whopping cranes. Mr.
Kreiner also described the proposed siting guidelines applicable to the greater
prairie chicken.

It has always been hoped that as more
products were developed using recycled plastics, more demand would be
created for recycled plastic material thus increasing its value and, in
the end, increasing collection and recycling efforts.
So far plastic appears to be one of the least recycled materials. Perhaps that's ready to change.
Hello all,
To make it a more democratic process, we are going to use a doodle to vote on
