Hello,

There will be a Central Texas WoWE Holiday Happy Hour on December 10th, 2009
from 5:30-7:30 PM at the Cedar Door (201 Brazos St
Austin, TX 78701-4015 Phone: (512) 473-3712 - cash bar). Please RSVP to
tmessina@.... No speakers this time - just mingling and fun.

We had a great turn out at our Fall meeting. The over 35 attendees heard
presentations from Don Blanton and Mark Kreiner both of Blanton & Associates who
also graciously sponsored the meeting. Don Blanton gave an overview of macro
siting issues encountered in the construction of commercial scale wind projects.
Mark Kreiner discussed voluntary siting guidelines followed by most wind
developers and the impact of wind development on bats and whopping cranes. Mr.
Kreiner also described the proposed siting guidelines applicable to the greater
prairie chicken.

It has always been hoped that as more products were developed using recycled plastics, more demand would be created for recycled plastic material thus increasing its value and, in the end, increasing collection and recycling efforts.

So far plastic appears to be one of the least recycled materials. Perhaps that's ready to change.

We are bringing together Young Professionals in Energy, Business Network Chicago, Climatini and CEN for a holiday networking event on Monday, December 7 at the MidAmerica Club (80th Floor of the AON Center).  IL State Representative Julie Hamos has been confirmed as a speaker and Tesla Motors has agreed to showcase one of their Roadsters and offer a test drive.  You can find more info and an agenda below in our formal invitation.

I would love to have a strong showing from the wind industry, so please feel free to forward this message to others within your respective organizations or any clients that you may have in the area.

Admission is free but we are asking people to RSVP on our website by December 5 since we have to provide names to the security desk at the AON Center.
