While IBM will not be attending this event I'd like to remind people of
IBM's interop endpoints (listed at: http://wsi.alphaworks.ibm.com:8080/interop/index.html
) which supports the full interop scenario documents as specified by the
specific interop workshop event. If anyone runs into any problems with
these endpoints please drop me a note. thanks -Doug

Thanks Doug, It’s
good to hear about IBM’s continuing interest in WS-* interop testing. You
seem to have misunderstood my mail – this is an invite to a F2F meeting -
the Windows Communication Foundation (aka Indigo) interop *plug-fest* we will hold in Redmond on November 7th – 10th. The
event is focused on the product-level interop with WCF. Unlike the previous
WS-* Workshops, this event is not focused on getting feedback for the WS-*
specs. Based on our experience with soapbuilders, such F2F events are
super-effective at advancing interoperability between products. We are
encouraged by the wide support from the WS-* community for this plug-fest, and
we look forward to IBM joining us at the F2F in November.

Kirill,
Thanks for the notice of your interop endpoints. IBM has endpoints
up for most of WS-* specifications you mentioned covering the scenarios as
specified in the interop workshop's scenario documents. The endpoints
should cover the full range of features specified in those scenario documents
and not just the subset your version of the scenario documents mention.
Based on the activity logs they seem to be widely used and appear to be
quite useful to the WS community. We welcome MSFT's efforts to join this
adhoc/off-line testing process and hope you keep your endpoint up indefinitely
as we hope to. Please see the respective WS-* Yahoo group for the URL of
the endpoint of interest - or feel free to contact me at dug@... if
you're unable to locate the URL.

Hey to all you Web Services Toolkits implementers out there!
We are planning a 4-day Windows Communications Foundation (WCF, a.k.a Indigo)
Interop Plug-fest on Monday November 7, 2005 to Thursday November 10, 2005 at
Microsoft Redmond campus.
The WCF (Indigo) Interop Plug-fest is an ad-hoc, open forum for implementers of
various Web Services protocols to meet with engineers from the WCF(Indigo) team
and test interoperability with the upcoming release.
Please reply to kirillg@... and jthelin@... introducing your implementation if
you’re interested in attending.
Scenarios drafts as well as pointers to test endpoints are available online - http://mssoapinterop.org/ilab/wcfinteroplab.htm . We recommend you to join the WS-Builders@yahoogroups.com discussion group and use it for questions around scenarios
documents and WCF(Indigo) interoperability.
Here is an invite with further logistics info: http://mssoapinterop.org/ilab/WCFInteropPlugFest_invite.doc
Thank you and we hope to see you November 7th !
We love interop face-to-face events of all
kinds. Lack of interop events is what hurts.

I understood
- just wanted to make sure you, and others, were aware of IBM's full-scenario
endpoints - which are there for continued full spec interop testing and not just
for 'feedback' on the specs as you suggest below.

NxM full
spec interop events yes. A '1xM subset of the spec' event is something different
isn't it? :-) > We are

I can't

For clarification, anyone who attended the
last WS-Eventing feedback workshop in January or who has joined the mailing

be tracked throughout the event.

I have some hard scheduling constraints to
work around on this. Alan’s wife is expecting a new baby at the end of
April, and so the last 2 weeks of April are a writeoff from that perspective. Pushing
out into May clashes with Alan’s paternity leave. Hence April 15 seems
like the latest date we can hit from our end.

WS-Eventing Interop Workshop date
How does Thursday April 15 work for people to hold an
interop workshop on WS-Eventing?
From my investigations I can’t see any obvious clashes
with other meetings, but let me know if I have missed anything. It’s
getting harder and harder to avoid all date clashes these days.
Alan is beavering away on some a proposed scenario doc which
he will send to the list for discussion in the next few days, but I want to get
the date pinned down and in people’s diaries.
As the spec is fairly straight forward, I think 1 day should
be enough for this meeting.
Microsoft will host in Redmond, as Alan has travel
restrictions and limited availability due to the imminent arrival of a new baby
around the end of April, followed by paternity leave.
Can you also let me know who expects to be able to attend
with an implementation on that date?

Hi folks!
From the latest issue of OASIS News:
--------------------------------------------------------
* A Call for Participation has been issued for the OASIS Web Services
Notification (WSN) TC. The OASIS WSN TC has been chartered to define a set
of
specifications that standardize the way Web services interact using the
Notification pattern. Interested participants should join by 13 April in
order to contribute to the first meeting on 28 April.
http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/members/200403/msg00007.htmlhttp://xml.coverpages.org/ni2004-03-10-b.html
--------------------------------------------------------
Now that WS-Notification has been refactored, note that the "Base" part of
the spec is really about the same size and shape as WS-Eventing.
It is my sincere hope that the WS-Eventing authors will seriously consider
submitting the Eventing spec to the WSN TC as input, and then join the
process of standardizing a One True Asynchronous "Eventification" spec under
the auspices of OASIS.

Hi Glen,
To canvas opinions from the group on that topic, I have set up a poll
about making the archives publicly readable:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ws-eventing-workshops/surveys?id=459977
The poll will close on 01 March (next Monday) so make your opinions
heard by then.
The results so far have slightly surprised me, but things may still
change before the polling closes so I'll wait until then to assess the
recommendation.

Hi Jorgen!
Thanks for getting this stuff out there.
Any progress or new info on opening up the Yahoo group archives to the
public?

Attached are the minutes from the WS-Eventing Feedback Workshop held last week
on Feb 19 at Tibco in Palo Alto.
A summary version of these minutes, along with the presentation decks will be
posted to the MSDN Web Services site in the next few days, and I will send a
note to this list once those are available.
Many thanks to everyone who attended and contributed to make this workshop so
good.
Next step - some interop testing!
Jorgen

Thanks!
Due to a previously unforeseen clash with a F2F meeting at one of the
transactions working groups at OASIS, many people who wish to attend this event
being unable to do so.
Therefore in the interests of encouraging an open and inclusive dialog
on the WS-Coordination, WS-AtomicTransaction and WS-BusinessActivity specifications,
BEA, IBM and Microsoft have decided to reschedule the TX Feedback Workshop to
avoid the date clash, and thereby allow wider attendance from across the
industry.
The new date is Wednesday March 10, 2004.
The venue and start time remain unchanged – see below for full
details.
We have already contacted all participants who confirmed for the
original date, but are sending out this note to all original invitees as we
hope you will now be able to attend on the new date.
Jorgen, Amy, David, et al:
Thank you very much for hosting the WS-Eventing feedback workshop. We
(Systinet) found it very helpful. We think WS-Eventing is an exciting
and useful specification. We do have some feedback that we would
like to provide to you on the specification. It was suggested that we
post it here. Please find it at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ws-eventing-
workshops/files/WSEventingFeedback.doc.
Separately, I am very interested in hearing if anyone else has early
implementations of WS-Eventing as some informal bidirectional interop
testing might prove mutually useful. Again thanks for the workshop
and we look forward to similar events hopefully in the near future.
Regards,
- Adam
