Subject: WRM200USB uploads history, won't upload live.

Hi,

I'm a newbie to weather stations.

Here's my situation:
I am running the latest version software (WUHU216_32_B212.zip) on Windows 7
Starter Edition.

I installed this once and had it uploading to wunderground (KMOKANSA50) just
fine. I could shutdown the laptop and restart and history would upload and
then start uploading live data at 1 minute intervals.

I decided to change my WRM200 to log data at 15 minute intervals. At that point
I could upload history, but no more updates would load until I shut down,
collected some history, and started the laptop again.

I uninstalled and reinstalled WUHU. to no effect.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Jim

If it is an Acu-Rite station, the user cannot run Heavyweather that is intended
for La Crosse stations.

Currently Acu-Rite stations are not supported.

I know Weather Display does support those stations. You might also check the
Cumulus website.

On the main screen, do any of the values in the left most column contain "OFL"?

Thanks for the response.

Yes, several items are marked OFL (Windgust, DewPoint, the Rainfalls).

Thanks,

Jim

This would suggest that one or more of your sensors is not reporting in. After 5
minutes or so this should result in errors being posted to the log regarding
sensors that did not report in.

You may need to re-synchronize your sensors to the console. There is a procedure
to do that although I do not recall.

Also, you might consider moving the console to a location closest to the sensors
or move the sensors toward the console if they are out of range.

All sensors are showing ok on the console. Also, everything that is "tanked up"
in the console while my computer is off, loads to wunderground as soon as I
startup WUHU.

Do you still think I need to reset/rescan the sensors?

Thanks,

Jim

Hmmm... That is odd. Did you see any messages in the log screen after 5-10
minutes? I would think that warnings would be posted?

Here's a snippet of the log. When history is done downloading, posting to
wunderground stops and I get ofl for several calculated fields (dew point, etc.)
from that point, it appears to be not uploading.

Thanks for helping me out!

If you have not disabled any sensors in the tweak screen, eventually you should
see an error in the log about which physical sensor did not report in. I believe
it is 5 mins but it might be 10 minutes before the error is posted.

Well...
I wasn't getting any errors. But! We haven't had rain for quite a while and my
rain gauge shows zero all the time. I went out and poured a cup of water into
the rain sensor.

The base reported nothing!!

I reset both the Rain sensor and the console and...

Everything is working again!!

Thanks,

Jim

John, the best place to start is to review this great manual that a member of
this list provided for us. After reviewing the manual, you can post some
specific questions that you may have here in the forum and I am sure someone
will be able to help get you started.

My WMR-100NA periodically stops sending data via USB and I have to Reset it
causing me to lose all rain statistics. The log contains the message "The rain
total discrepancy will be corrected by assuming that the current rain total from
the console is correct ...". After the Reset the rain totals are all zero.

Is there a way to override this assumption and keep the current rain totals?

BTW. I've tried simply re-plugging the USB connection and that is not
sufficient. The WMR-100NA has backup batteries and its AC adapter is plugged
into a UPS - so it must be a failure in the console.

Are you using the rain total anywhere like processing a web page? Is it just so
that you can see the rain total on the main screen?

I'm just looking at the Gauges window. Would like its cumulative Total to
remain accurate across one of these console failures/reset.

I am not sure there is much that I can do about that but will think on it. An
offset could be added as a user configuration variable but this could lead to
confusion.

The message in the log tends to imply that WUHU recognized the discrepancy and
chose to replace the current cumulative value with the zero value from the
console.

"The rain total discrepancy will be corrected by assuming that the current rain
total from the console is correct ...".

Is that not how it works?

Hello
I am Othmar Gattringer the CEO of AWEKAS Weather Network. Some of our users did
have a problem to set the correct settings for the AWEKAS user interface.
The field name of the user name is "AWEKAS ID" - it should be "AWEKAS user
name". The AWEKAS id is the number of the station. So many users set the number
instead of the username and the transmission did not work.
Please rename "AWEKAS ID" to "AWEKAS user name" (or AWEKAS user) for one of the
next releases.

Thank you!

Actually it's Station ID but yes it's the username and not the ID.  I'm sure Heath will modify it to make it clearer.

It must reconcile the two by accepting the new total as the correct total. It
then overwrites all records in memory so that any rain calculation performed by
WUHU is correct. The 1HR, 24HR, Daily, and other rain totals are calculated
depending on the station type. This is based on the data in memory.

An INI setting could perhaps be added that would affect the display only. Any
other solution would probably be overly complicated and lead to users not
understanding how yet another offset works and how to adjust it.

Going forward the data will be uploaded.

Because there are many different history types, WUHU does not upload archived
