I had a problem running WUHU_Tweet with an action file a while ago and finally
gave up and just ran it from the action line.

Now that I've got my Davis I would like to go back to the action file but for
some reason it won't run any executable that I put in.

I tried the following:

template:"C:\Program Files\WUHU\templates\csv.txt" "C:\Program
Files\WUHU\data\data.csv"
time(00:00,23:59,@5 ):ftp://don:ru48643@donlafferty.com: "C:\Program
Files\WUHU\data\Yotest.xml" "/httpdocs/yowindow/Yotest.xml"
"WUHU_Tweet.exe"
"%TimeHHMM%|<metarsky>%MetarSkyConditions%</metarsky>|<metarweather>%MetarWeathe\
rConditions%</metarweather>|Temp (d=0)%OutdoorTempDegF% F|Hum
(d=0)%OutdoorHumidity% %|Pres (d=1)%OutdoorPressureRelativeINHG%|24Hr Rain
(d=1)%OutdoorRain24HrIN%|WndSpd (d=0)%OutdoorWindSpeedMPH% MPH|WndDir
%OutdoorWindDirectionLetters%|WndChll (d=0)%OutdoorWindchillF% F"

and it runs the first 2 lines just fine but never executes the 3rd line (with
WUHU_Tweet.exe on it).

I also tried putting in just WUHU_Tweet.exe both in quotes and not in quotes and
then I tried putting in notepad.exe and it won't run either.

Is there something obvious I'm doing wrong?

I would remove the quoutes around WUHU_Tweet.exe, that can't be good.

You might also try specifying the entire path to the .exe.

If you copied it in to the WUHU directory then use:

C:\Program Files\WUHU\WUHU_Tweet "..."

Where ... is all of the other arguments.

Yes I tried it without the quotes.  The first 2 lines run but the third doesn't.  I know it worked a couple of years ago and then all of a sudden on one of the updates I did it stopped working.

Can you try it using either Notepad.exe or "Notepad.exe" or with the path in front and just verify that notepad should pop open if it's correct and just what it expects to see?  Does matching the case matter?

Thanks
Don

Value out of range (8.85 to 32.45). To new users, have you set up your console's
relative air pressure yet? See station user's manual.

also have set relative air pressure on the weather station to existing

Can someone please try putting in an action file the following and tell me if Notepad opens when it runs.

Notepad.exe

or

C:\Windows\Notepad.exe

or

"C:\Windows\Notepad.exe"

When I use either of the first 2 on the action line by themselves they cause Notepad to pop open but when I put any of them in an action file and call it using WUHU's normal method of calling nothing happens.

I want to find out if it's my computer that's causing the issue or is it really something with WUHU.

Thanks
Don

He's using a Lacrosse Station. Can you guys assist? I've attached the

Hi,

Newbie here.

Poked around with the WUHU uploader. I didn't see any discrepancy between the
Lacrosse weather station Heavy Weather SW, the WUHU uploaders and the LCD on the
wall WRT to pressure. Nor any setting to adjust altitude that might come in to
play if it matters that we are ~4600 ft in elevation.

Summary: Feels to me that this side is sending (says it sending) 25.47 for
pressure but Weather bug is echoing/reporting back a different value of
Er::25.5270588235294

Does weatherbug have other PWS (lacrosse) working with WUHU uploaders?

Hi there!

I'm seeing an error code for your station for your barometric pressure:
http://data.backyard2.weatherbug.com/data/ecv.aspx?ID=p16026&NUM=27622

Check your console's elevation/pressure and your publishing app's elevation/pressure (if applicable), and also feel free to email me your elevation so I can check our end. That'll help us go down the line and see where the kink is.

Thanks!

Can you see any easy fix?

Hi,

Newbie here.

Poked around with the WUHU uploader. I didn't see any discrepancy between the Lacrosse weather station Heavy Weather SW, the WUHU uploaders and the LCD on the wall WRT to pressure. Nor any setting to adjust altitude that might come in to play if it matters that we are ~4600 ft in elevation.

Summary: Feels to me that this side is sending (says it sending) 25.47 for pressure but Weather bug is echoing/reporting back a different value of Er::25.5270588235294

Does weatherbug have other PWS (lacrosse) working with WUHU uploaders?

Nathan and Robert,

I’m running a cheapie LaCrosse WS-2813U-IT and it works very well. I didn't recall any setting for altitude on my system, but in looking through the docs, I realized that they had me use a local calibrated barometer to set the relative pressure. Enter that in the base unit and it should convert future absolute readings to relative.

Don,

I'm not on WeatherBug. Just a personal preference. As a computer tech, for years
I was taking that off people's PCs. I had heard (rightly or wrongly at the
time) that it was low-level spyware. At the very least, on corporate networks,
it was utilizing bandwidth which, back in those days, was a precious commodity.
So I've never been a fan.

In this instance, he was reporting to WeatherBug what he station was recording,
so it seemed like an recording error rather than a reporting one. I hope my
suggestion helps.

P.S. Since you asked, I'll start a new thread on the topic of weather services.
I've stuck with WU alone since I installed my station.

Check your console's elevation/pressure and your publishing app's elevation/pressure (if applicable), and also feel free to email me your elevation so I can check our end. That'll help us go down the line and see where the kink is.

Thanks!

Hi,

More than 3 days, still not seeing our PWS weather data on weatherbug page nor on the upload-data-confirmation-test-url page.

Can you see any easy fix?

Robert

Having finally posted to the group after having my Lacrosse WS-2813U-IT for a year, I was wondering what you meteorologists think of the various WUHU weather services. I signed on with Weather Underground and have been pretty happy with them both on my PC (despite the new screen layout) and Android (which doesn’t seem to update automatically). Is there a reason to sign up with WeatherBug, PWSWeather, AWEKAS and CWOP?

I was a weather geek in junior high and remember a lot of what I read, forgot a lot, too, but still consider myself fairly weather-technical if that makes a difference.

I have had my LaCrosse 2308 for about 8 years and posting to the web via WUHU for about 7 years.

I have the data posted to all the sites available through WUHU.  I figure that the more sites it is posted to the more people might use it.  That could be someone coming to visit a friend or relative in town or someone who might be moving to town.  Or maybe it might be the NWS to modify their forecasts and models or a university doing research.  One of the local real estate offices has a link to WU for local weather.

Mark, if you are in junior high and interested in weather, due well in your math courses.  The math is the foundation to getting a degree in meteorology.  If you would like to learn more on the practical use of weather, get in touch with a local hot air balloon pilot.  Balloons are more sensitive to small weather changes than most other aircraft and pilots are always looking for crew people.

Bob,

Uh, no. I _was_ in junior high ... almost 50 years ago. But the advice is good
for any young lurkers on the site.

Mark, it is really just a matter of preference. I do WU, CWOP & AWEKAS. The CWOP
is good if you are interested in comparing your site to others in your area if
you sign up for the Quality Checks. If you do, do not try to chase the results,
watch it over time and see if there are good comparisons for you as micro
climates have a big influence. Is good though to watch for trends in your data.
