I would suggest Javascript.  There are a few programmers on here who could quickly give you the code to use.  I could do it with a bit of effort.  ;)

PS the auto refresh trick is working as well...I have kept that sting handy, so thanks :)

I cant get the program to take my lat and long for the CWOP page. My Lat and
long from http://mapper.acme.com/ is N 41.91656 W 88.15888 which is the exact
place the station is located +/- 1 foot. But I cant get the software to take it,
and when it does with the LORAN format given by NOAA it reports in the wrong
place, NOAA sent this message.

"Zachary,

Your latitude and longitude in LORAN format are: N 41 54.9936, W 88 9.5328,
respectively. There is a conversion tool in item #3 of the FAQ and this is
where these values were obtained.

Please enter these values, confirm that your site is located correctly on
findu.com and then let me know so I can add your site to the active list.

There is also a members forum where you can get assistance on issues. The link
is http://www.wxforum.net/ (from the bottom of the FAQ page)."

Any Idea Whats going wrong or what I should put in the fields to make it work.

I'm still not quite sure what you're doing Tony.  I think you want the page to tell you when the next update will be based on the last one.  I don't see anything in the WUHU variables that would tell you the next update but you can get the current time and using a little javascript your page could look at that time and calculate when the next update should be based on your cycle time.

The On Weather Update action fires whenever there is new data from the console.
The On Update Seconds allows you to limit how often that event fires, it will
fire no more often that the value you specify in seconds.

There is currently no variable for projecting when the next weather update from
the console will happen or when the next On Weather Update action will fire. One
could make the assumption that the next web page update would be the next on
Weather Update action firing but that would only be useful in that one
particular case.

WUHU Operation/
Alarms/Actions
On Update Seconds
and have it show the next update time, such as:
Next Update will be at:
So in other words if I have the OUS set to 600 seconds, and the current time is 11:32 (am or pm), I would like the Next Update will be at: 11:42 local time to appear.

Here are the strings and syntax I have been testing, but not producing what I am hoping for:

I put in:

Now what I am really liking is the C outcome, but how do I get it to add the seconds from the entry at On Update Seconds to show the following:
Next Update will Be at 11:53

Wordy I know..sorry,

PS the auto refresh trick is working as well...I have kept that sting handy, so thanks :)

This subject comes up every so often and shouldn't have to. I recall my
encounter with CWOP.

The thing is there are ways to handle the location data being input that range
from klunky to elegant. My conversation with the sysop resulted in basically
his saying, "My way or the highway, buster." and I chose the highway.

It is stupid to alienate people helping your site from the their first
encounter. It is done by being contrary to every other site out there. How dumb
is that?

Your saying The WUHU OPERATION/ ALARMS/ACTIONS/ON WEATHER UPDATE can fire at anytime? I see, and have been aware of, the “**This alarm’s actions are not subject to time limitsâ€
But this doesn’t make sense to me.  You see, I actually have logs showing that there is the actual 00:09:45 between each upload to my FTP.  Instead of uploading a huge log file, please visit my page: http://www.kbaam.com/wuhu/wx_help.html  there are 5 examples showing FTP uploads.
So I do not fully understand what you mean be “a particular case.â€

The On Weather Update action fires whenever there is new data from the console. The On Update Seconds allows you to limit how often that event fires, it will fire no more often that the value you specify in seconds.

There is currently no variable for projecting when the next weather update from the console will happen or when the next On Weather Update action will fire. One could make the assumption that the next web page update would be the next on Weather Update action firing but that would only be useful in that one particular case.

PWS stickers stopped updating again today around 1:07 PM CST. The PWS stickers
that use Flash show blank data except Rainfall is "NaN" in. The other PWS
stickers that do not use Flash show the data from the last update, which in my
case was at 13:07 local time.

These stickers do not update on any Web page, including the www.wunderground.com
pages that display and offer the HTML that allows you to add the stickers to
your own pages.

Your station is also not currently on the map of weather stations (nor selectable from the station select button on the page for Georgetown, TX).  Like I said last time, I believe this is because of the WU logic and the fact that your station is reporting a temp 7.9 degrees higher than one just to your east and 3.8 degrees higher than the one to your west.  It believes your station is reading too high and removes it from the list until it starts reading closer to the other stations around.

Contact the WU support folks (help.wunderground.com) if you believe your readings are accurate, as I think they have a way to override this for stations that are in micro-climates.

Was that a change made recently? I've had this weather station up for going on
two years and this is the first time it's happened. BTW I noticed at 3:21 PM
that it's back up again. Also noted that the nearby stations are within 1 - 3
degrees. I'll watch the difference when it happens next time. Also, it's only
the stickers that stop, the Tabular Data table keeps on posting temps during the
sticker outage.

There is currently no variable for projecting when the next weather update from the console will happen or when the next On Weather Update action will fire. One could make the assumption that the next web page update would be the next on Weather Update action firing but that would only be useful in that one particular case.

Tony,

Just so you'll know in the future when the sender is wuhu_software that means it's from Heath, the author of WUHU.

Your saying The WUHU OPERATION/ ALARMS/ACTIONS/ON WEATHER UPDATE can fire at anytime? I see, and have been aware of, the “**This alarm’s actions are not subject to time limits”
So I do not fully understand what you mean be “a particular case.”
As you see in my log at my website, that area IS doing what I have requested of it.
How hard is it to make a variable that would represent that area?

Featuritis can appear in many guises. You are the sole proponent for this
feature. With thousands of copies of WUHU in use, that tells us something when
you remain the sole proponent.

Why do you go so long between update? Maintaining a weather feed is not a high
bandwidth operation. You are updating a webcam every two minutes which does
have much greater overhead. If you go to real-time feeds for WU, update
frequency/countdown is mute.

Reporting in a short time-frame is seldom dramatic. Most of the time we don't
have to wait with baited breath to see the next result or countdown the minutes
to it. Weather tends to flow slowly most of the time.

I have to concur with Ken. While I would love to toss new features in to meet
everyone's needs, I cannot invest my time in every want and need.

Now if you want to pay me to implement a feature, I will be happy to do that. I
have worked with some companies to support stations that are not in the consumer
market. They pay me for my time.

Now if there is a popular demand for something, a popular station, a new weather
server, whatever, I will invest the time to implement new features.

Keep in mind that I do this as a hobby, on the weekends as I am too spent during
the week to write more code after writing code all day.

The update action is event driven, based on the update from the console that is
dependent on the console type.

Some stations report every 2.5 seconds, some report when new sensor data
arrives, others happen at large intervals.

The update action will to fire more frequently than the On Update Seconds you
specify.

The actual execution of the event is not precise and will more than likely drift
over time. There is nothing that ties the On Update Action to the actual clock.
To do that, you use time limiters.

Typo correction:

The update action will **NOT** fire more frequently than the On Update Seconds
you specify.

I hate typos!

For more than 3 years my station reported to CWOP without issue, then several
months ago I started getting the same corrupted data message from them, I
checked my set-up and could not see anything wrong.  When I contacted them I was
basically told that my set-up was incorrect and that I should fix it.  Not even
a glimmer of a clue as to how to address the issue was provided .  After
thinking about it for a bit, rechecking my settings and factoring in that I had
not changed anything I came to the conclusion that CWOP did not want my data.
So I logged into my WUHU software and unchecked the CWOP box.

Problem solved.

How dumb
is that?

Sounds like they're falling short on primary goal #3 (from
http://wxqa.com/):

3) to provide feedback to the data contributors so that they have the
tools to check and improve their data quality.

Also obvious is the difference between him and Heath. Dumb questions are a
matter of viewpoint. If you don't have the answer, it ain't dumb. Now I can be
as brusk as the next guy. Heath goes beyond patient. This guy totallymakes up
for that. The law of averages wins another round.

Some people can only feel self-worth by putting down those around them. Sad
life then.

OK, this is not a WUHU problem, WUHU is too good. But I thought
all of you brilliant computer minds out there might have an answer.

I have a couple of signature blocks that use the Wunderground
stickers in the block. Lately if I send a message using the block
Thunderbird rejects it as spam and will not send it. It worked fine for
several years and I have not made any changes to the computer.

Thanks;

You might check the filter you have.

Thunderbird's spam filtering is heuristic in nature -- it learns from what you
tell it is spam. It also unlearns by telling it something is not spam.

I don't know of a way to query it to determine the why.

Setting an address in your address book will disable checking when that address
is the incoming address.

Not sure if that is any help but it is a start.

Brusque as it may be, I also dropped CWOP because it seemed their data requirements were a bit more precise than my station was capable of providing.  Yes, life is indeed like that !!!
