Dear wwwsifters,
This is to let you know that I have added a new Google search
interface to my WWW Search Interfaces for Translators at
http://www.multilingual.ch.
The new interface is designed to help you find idiomatic
expressions, sayings, proverbs and the like in English. (Click
on "WWW Search Interfaces for Translators" then scroll down to the
bottom of the frame on the right, under Abbreviations).
All you need to do is enter a couple of meaningful keywords: For
example, to find a definition of the idiom "to separate the wheat
from the chaff", search for "wheat" and "chaff" by entering the
following criteria in the search box:
wheat chaff
[no quotes, otherwise you would be searching for the phrase, as
opposed to the two words separately]
Once you have opened a web page from the results list, simply search for ONE of
your keywords by using CTRL-F (or Edit/Find) [for .html pages] or pressing the
BINOCULAR icon [for .pdf files].
Try it out!
Kind regards,
Tanya Harvey Ciampi
