xCBL is created, maintained, and supported for use - free of charge - by anyone needing document definitions for their e-commerce applications.
xCBL is a set of XML business documents, ebXML business transactions and
community profiles for use by individual "communities" of users. In addition to
using the business documents on these sites directly, you can also use the
component library to build your own documents. Either way, using xCBL promotes
interoperability between a business, its partners and the applications they use.
Recently OASIS set up a new Technical Committee called UBL (Universal Business Language). UBL will be using xCBL as its starting point. Click here if you want more detail on the evolution of xCBL and how it co-exists
