I can understand if there is no time to work on a new version, but I
do not understand why I cannot download the current version from the
official website. I have heard many great things about this browser,
and I would like to try it out for myself.

It's not being actively worked on, but it's not been forgotten either. Between
school fulltime and overtime at work, I just don't have time left to do anything
with it right now.
If someone can code and would like to contribute, let me know. There are things

I just created an account on the free aol mail service. I was able to
connect and download the mail flawlessly, but was unable to send mail.
I did check to very all was entered in correctly, but I could only
receive mail, not send.
Any help?

If there is to be more work on this, then it needs a newer browser
like the newer Firefox. Too many pages want newer java.
Just a suggestion.

Hi
Thanks for your continuing work on an already great DC browser.
I finally learned how to have my DC communicate with my Mac. by using the modem
script I
can view pages in my Sites Folder or Apache server through the 56k. Problem is
my CGIi
knowledge is limited.
What sort of script do I need to make VMU saves? I can create all the HTML or
CSS I want and
view them through the DC's browser but I can't seem to download any files.
zoot
Thanks for the group activity. :-) I usually try to check the group
at least once a day since I have to approve all posts now, but
sometimes I get to check it less... or more. The more activity there
is, the more I'll try to check. ;-)
I found out today that I'll be off work tomorrow, so I can stay up to
chat tonight. I'm on EST, so if any of you are in other time zones
like PST it may still be early in the evening for you. You can find
me at #dcchat on the irc.foreverchat.net server. Just use something
like mIRC or whatever IRC program you prefer.
I looked into mkisofs on the Mac not long ago, but I really was having
a hard time making any sense of just what I needed and just what to do
to get set up. Then there's the issue of getting the lba I want for
the kind of discs I make. I cram every part of the CD with data to
fit as much as possible, so the 1st session which is usually just a
dummy audio track actually contains data that is referenced in the 2nd
main data session. Then there's an audio track of the PSD theme song
which you can listen to if you put the disc in your DC and go to the
audio menu. Then comes the 2nd session with the main data. I make my
1st iso and audio track come to an lba of 45000 (like original
GDROMs), then I make my 2nd iso and hex edit the TOC to point to the
extra data I have in the 1st session. I can do this very easily with
command line tools in windoze. You can probably understand why
learning to do this in Mac OS 10.4.x would require more time than I
care to commit. The stripped download version of XDP is just a simple
audio/data format image, but I won't work on stripping it until I have
the full version ready. Also, since I have a G4, I'm PPC and don't
plan to afford an intel Mac Pro any time soon. I suppose if I could
use bootcamp, I'd be good to go.
Oh, and another thing... I have Photoshop CS2 on my Mac and I don't
know if the PVR plugin will work with it. If it does, I've not
figured out how. I've not been able to use it with anything above
Photoshop 7, and don't want to downgrade for the plugin. If the PVR
plugin will work with CS2 and you know how, I'd like to have that
info. (Not that it will really matter if I get the peecee running
properly).
Now about that mobo/cpu combo I mentioned earlier... it was on ebay...
I went to get it and someone else had already grabbed it with "buy it
now." So, it may be a while yet before I get the peecee fixed because
I'm not willing to dump much more $$ into it. It all depends on when
I find another deal like the one I just missed. :-(

To bad about reverting but you gotta do what you gotta do. Anyway your right,
VPC sucks
for what you're doing. But mkisofs may not be as daunting as you may think. As
far as
Dreamcast software is concerned the Mac doesn't do such a bad job. The hardest
part is
jumping through the hoops of information. With the latest intel Macs cross
plat-forming
should become easier. But what do I know? I can barely program a blip on a

Hi,
Thanks for your interest in the project.
The status is that I have the full version of XDP with the bookmark
bug fixed sitting on my PC's hard drive. It's been quite a long time
since I've worked on it. For all intents and purposes, it's a working
version, but just needs to be made ready for release. It also needs
to be stripped down for a download version. However, I started having
problems with my PC a long time ago and have still not gotten it
fixed. I've replaced literally everything over the past 2 years. I'd
get running properly intermittently here and there, but windoze would
always lose drivers or some ridiculous junk after a day or 2. I had
windoze working properly for about 2 weeks at one point and then it
decided it didn't want to burn CDs properly anymore, only coasters.
Those who frequented the IRC chat room are very familiar with my
issues. Anyway, I don't want to turn this into a post complaining
about computers. I can do more of that some other time. >:-/
In Nov. 2005 I began playing around with an old Mac 6100 and building
an old Mac 6500 that I had stored away and never used. Since that
time, I've gradually been going more and more Mac, as I've seen less
and less problems and found it more and more enjoyable than windoze.
My attention turned away from PC's and I began upgrading my old Macs,
(which became a pretty big hobby along with making OS X looking themes for the
classic OS 9), and then finally bought a nice G4 last winter so I can now run
the latest Mac OS. BTW, you can see some pics of my customization of that old
6500 here: http://www.psilocybindreams.com/mymac
Recently, my interest in getting something done with XDP has
resurfaced, but I wasn't sure if I wanted to try to work on it with
VirtualPC on my Mac. I know mkisofs exists for Mac also, but really,
either of those 2 options require more learning on my part and free
time has become a real issue.
So, I've taken up trying to fix my PC again, since I'm already well
versed in the command line utilities and other apps that I've always
used in working with Dreamcast software. I recently bought another
large Hard Drive so I could back up all my data and start with a fresh
install of XP and 98SE. However, when I was attempting a fresh
install, I found that the "new" ASUS motherboard I bought a while back
has problems. I've been looking around for another mobo and I'm
currently considering a nice mobo/cpu combo.
If you are serious about wanting to help, we can certainly talk about
it. I'd really appreciate a hand. If you'd like, we can meet in chat
sometime soon. I'll have to figure out when I'll have time and then I
can post my availability here. If I get this peecee running properly
again, there are some other things I'd like to do with XDP such as
some new graphics. But we'll see. That may all depend on how much
free time I have and whether or not I have help.
Take care,
-Ex
P.S.
Sorry Rich, for not setting aside time to chat sooner. :-(
I definitely owe you a few for that. ;-)
...and yes, you too Max & Sal.

Hi Angel,
I'm still alive, but barely kicking. I've hardly been able to get
online for quite a while now. My ISP stinks and so do the phone
lines. After 5 or 6 attempts to dial-in, I can usually get connected,
but then get disconnected after 30 seconds or less. It's not even
enough time to check my email. :-( This has got to stop.
Anyway, hope to see you in chat again soon.

Alcohol 120 to burn it and WinRAR to unzip it. It is 45MB zipped, so I
do not know any other way to get it to anyone other than via chat. I
did not get a chance to burn it yet myself being that I just got a
copy less than a week ago.

I was lucky enough to get a copy from someone else. You will need Alcohol 120 to burn it and WinRAR to unzip it. It is 45MB zipped, so I do not know any other way to get it to anyone other than via chat. I did not get a chance to burn it yet myself being that I just got a copy less than a week ago.

Sometimes the download links lead to a blank white page, but sometimes they do work. Take your chances, since right now thats the only way you can download it.

I would happily set up a dedicated seed/tracker for the latest
versions of XDP, full and std. I'm not sure who to contact about this
as the feedback form on the site seems to be down.
