Re: Re: [xof1solarcarpublic] Encapsulation problem

Hi Cakgan,

The encapsulation won't stop the cells from getting broken.

We spray a very thick coating on our cells, they are quite resilient but will still get broken. We sprayed a coat as thick as the cells.

The thick coat was also intended to seal gaps between the cells, in order to avoid water getting behind the cells.

Hope that helps,

Cheers,

Hi Marcelo,

Firstly thanks for your fast and detailed answer. I have some unclear  points about your encapsulation. We sprayed Dow Corning 2577(a conformal coating) on your cells on three layers. And we used double sided tapes like you. But this three layers(we sprayed three times) look so thin and this encapsulation couldnt protect our cells to broken. What we have to use with Dow Corning 2577 for protect our cells broken. ( we hold solar cells with double sided foam tape. Then spray 2577 on three layer. But we cant approach success on encapsulation. Is there any step that we can pass through?). Thanks for your attension again. And happy new years to you and your team members from Turkey.

Best regards,

I had more detail info on our solar cell encapsulation, unfortunately our main computer and its back were stolen a few weeks ago. All the files were in there. I'll try to help you the best way I can.

We used two sided foam tape (HVP) to hold the solar cells in place and sprayed conformal to encapsulate the cells. More detailed information can be found under "news update" ( http://www.xof1.com/projectnewsupdate.html )

Hope you will find the information useful. Let me know if there is anymore information you may need.

Hi all,

We have a problem about encapsulation our solar cells. Is there anyone
have a document about step by step encapsulation in a kind of method.
We prefer more pratical, easier also some efficient method for curve
surfaces. Thanks for your attension.
