A wonderful couple a meet in Wenatchee (Jim and Laurie) became great friends. They have been giving me a great deal of moral support to continue the with the project. As a way of helping out they created a news letter about the project. See it below.

Right now he is in Lacey, WA near Olympia trying to work his way south in search of more sunshine and financial support to continue his journey. Which do you think; Obama, the Governator, or both? |

X of 1 Sets New World Record  Marcelo da Luz and his Power of One solar project set a new world record for the longest distance traveled by a car completely powered by solar power on October 30, 2008. He beat the old record of 15,070 km (9,364 miles). Now, a new record is set with each mile that Marcelo is able to travel in his solar car. "Fill er up with sunshine"  Marcelo's solar car made page one headline news in the Wenatchee World newspaper on December 5th. As a favor to Jim and Laurie, he brought his car to Wenatchee to show to the local high school college and elementary school. The Wenatchee World also put together a video of the car in front of a 10 kW solar array in downtown Wenatchee. | |
