I assume you installed a PCI card to attach the SATA drive to. I did the same thing. Check if your BIOS offers a boot to SCSI, my 2001 Award BIOS has that

Hello Dan, ... Firstly double check the BIOS settings. There may well be an option for "other devices" but this is not always the case. I would recommend that
