Hello Melinda,
XOSL is not O/S dependant.
I would strongly recommend that you install XOSL 1st in a small partition at the beginning of the drive, then hide it.
Next install the O/S in a suitable partition.
The next step is to recover XOSL and set up XOSL to boot from the O/S.
It works well.
