audi0warfare,
Thanks for your e-mail. I am sorry you are having trouble with XO Wave and
I've got some suggestions below. I've assumed you are running Mac OS X:

This is a bug in XO Wave, but without more info from you, I can't diagnose
it for sure. The most likely cause in the current version of XO Wave has
to do with conversion during import. This bug will be fixed in the next
release, due out in a few days. (In the meantime, you could try converting
your files to AIFF or WAV format before importing them, which will
probably solve the problem)
To give a better diagnosis of the problem, I will need the log file (which
appears on your desktop after a crash) or at least tell me what you were
doing when it happened. (log files should probably be mailed to me
privately to avoid too many long e-mails to the list.

Not sure why you think java is out of date, but if you are running OS X
10.4 (the only supported OS on the mac), your java should be fine.

Can you tell me more about your hardware and what you are doing when you
get these messages? I can't diagnose your problem from this description
alone. Again, a log would be useful (XO Wave gives you the option to save
an error report along with most errors).

I am sorry you are having trouble. XO Wave is still a beta product, which
means it is not intended for production work, yet. The current release has
quite a few problems, some of which will be fixed in the next release
(like that nasty import bug), and some of which won't be fixed for some
time. I have made XO Wave available because I have found that users can
often give very constructive feedback, and many users like to use the
latest thing even if it has bugs.
If you need to do production work, you will either have to wait until XO
Wave has a stable release (say, version 1.0), or check out one of XO
Wave's many competitors. To find out about releases, you can subscribe to
one of our mailing lists at http://www.xowave.com/support.shtml. For info
about XO Wave's competitors, which have more stable releases now, there is
a very extensive list in the "made4mac" section of Apple's website:

Hope that helps,
