I sent this in the Feedback section, but then saw the comment about
using this mailing list, so I'll repeat it here for others to benefit.
------

I was so excited when I saw this program as I had been using ProTools
Free which is not available for Mac OS X. Yet that joy turned to
disappointment when it appeared that the most important thing I will
ask of this, doesn't seem to be doable. Specifically,

When I want to cut out a piece of audio, the "cut" function should
delete the highlighted piece and automatically join the remaining
pieces, just as a word processor would do with text. What XO does is
simply delete the sound and keep the space, which would be more like a
"clear" or "erase" function. Then I have to manually slide the pieces
together. This is great if I want to overlap a piece of music, but is
inaccurate and wastes valuable time for simple editing.

Also, is there a way to place markers and then highlight and delete
the area between markers or do I have to click and drag over the wave
to edit?

I realize this is beta and I commend you for what you've accomplished
thus far. I only hope that these options are there and I'm just not
seeing them.

Thanks.
