I should mention that the most likely cause of this error is that you
are combining different versions of XO Wave components. For example,
an old XOmux and a newer XOengine. Usually, the installer cleans the
old installation out and completely replaces it, but if you moved any
program components by hand, the installer won't have known about it,
and you'll have to delete the old stuff manually because you must
keep all program components at the same version.
If you've forgotten where you put things, you can try using commands
such as:
locate xo
locate XOengine
locate xowave
locate XOmux
to help find things.
