Greetings XP Montreal members,

My name is Likoebe Maruping. I am a faculty member in the Walton College
of Business at the University of Arkansas. My research focuses on team
processes, team dynamics, and team performance. I am currently working
towards my PhD in Information Systems and my dissertation is focused on
understanding how various agile software development practices affect
the performance of software development teams along a variety of
performance dimensions. As part of my dissertation, I have developed a
measure that not only captures whether teams are actively engaging in
agile practices, but also the extent to which these practices are being
used. I am ultimately interested in discovering how each of the agile
practices, in combination with effective team processes, can improve
software development team performance.

As I mentioned, I have developed an instrument to measure the use of
agile software development practices in project teams. I am looking for
participants who are currently working on software development teams to
help me to test the instrument by filling out a short questionnaire.
All responses would be kept anonymous and feedback would be reported to
all participants as aggregate data, so that participants get see how
they are doing. I would greatly appreciate any participants and would
be more than happy to present the refined measurement instrument once I
am done with the pilot testing. I believe that one of the benefits of
using the instrument once it is ready, is that it will allow
organizations to assess which specific practices are contributing to
team performance and how they can be combined with other team processes
to enhance performance. Interested parties can contact me via email at:
lmaruping@... or by phone at (479)575-6840. Thank you in
advance for your consideration.
