RAGHU RAMAKRISHNAN
Community Systems: The World Online

The Web is witnessing a massive shift from being a static repository
of content to a community that's drive by user-generated content. With
sites such as del.icio.us, Flickr, MySpace, Slashdot, Wikipedia,
Yahoo! Answers and YouTube, the web has become a medium that connects
us to each other. What's driving this fundamental shift and what are
the new challenges in supporting and amplifying this shift?

Date: January 8th, 2007
Location: The Ballroom, Taj Westend, Bangalore
Time: 3:00 PM onwards

Dr. Raghu Ramakrishnan, a world-renowned expert in Data Mining, is VP
and Research Fellow at Yahoo! Research. He leads the strategy behind
Yahoo!'s social search platform.

He is a Fellow of Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), and has
received several awards, including a Packard Foundation Fellowship, an
NSF Presidential Young Investigator Award, and an ACM SIGMOD
Constributions Award.

Thanks,
Sumeet Mulani.
