Warning on new Firefox Extension   Topic List   < Prev Topic  |  Next Topic >

Word to the wise, if you install the new official del extension for
Firefox 2 it will download ALL of your bookmarks to Firefox. It asks
you if you want to upload your local bookmarks but doesn't prompt you
to download your bookmarks, it just does it.

I have over 4000 bookmarks on the site, and have been watching the
worlds slowest progress bar while Firefox pegs my CPU and is fairly
unresponsive. It's been 10 minutes and I'd estimate that the
progress bar is 1/3 done, so my browser is unusable for maybe 30
minutes. Oh, and after it's done I may have to go through the hassle
of deleting 4000+ bookmarks from Firefox because I want them on the
site, not in my bookmarks bar.

Joshua and team: could you prompt the user to find out if we actually
want to sync our remote bookmarks? I was expecting this to work just
like the old extension, except with Firefox 2.

George
