example from the yahoo page - which works well except that I have a
number of menu items that wrap onto the next line.
When one of the menu items on the top is selected, it opens a list of
submenu items. When the mouse is moved over one of these, if it
happens to be on top of a menu item on the bottom row, the focus moves
on to the menu item on the bottom row. (did i explain that clearly?)

Anyway, does anyone know how to prevent the selected menu item list
from losing focus in this case?

Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks!

That's a known IE issue. IE uses the dropdown from Windows in its browser
but, for some reason, it doesn't fit into the browser window but is in a
window of its own so it floats over anything in the browser window.

The panel has an iframe configuration argument that should default to true
for IE, which draws a floating iframe that also goes into a separate window
that can be placed in between the panel and the dropdown and thus hide it.
I don't know why your panel would not have this configuration property on in
IE but if that is the case, just force it.

That's not much of a YUI issue. The appplication would probably be too slow
for YUI to make a difference. If each row had just fifty bytes of data, it
would involve transferring 1 gigabyte of data and have the browser hold it
in memory. Your user might die of old age just waiting for the data to be
transferred to the client machine and then be paged out to disk. Just then
YUI comes into play, and it won't be fast either.

Does anyone know why the line "this.fireEvent("tableMsgShowEvent",
{html:sHTML, className:sClassName});" might be giving the
error "Property does not support this method"? From what I can tell
this is just trying to set up a very basic datatable. This worked
under 2.2.2:

YAHOO.widget.DataTable.prototype.showTableMessage = function(sHTML,
sClassName) {
     var elCell = this._elMsgTd;
     if(YAHOO.lang.isString(sHTML)) {
         elCell.innerHTML = sHTML;
     }
     if(YAHOO.lang.isString(sClassName)) {
         YAHOO.util.Dom.addClass(elCell, sClassName);
     }
     this._elMsgTbody.style.display = "";
     this.fireEvent("tableMsgShowEvent", {html:sHTML,
className:sClassName});
};

Here's the code:

// Override the built-in link formatter
YAHOO.widget.Column.formatLink = function(elCell, oRecord, oColumn,
oData) {
      var batchId = oData;
      elCell.innerHTML = "<a href=\"BatchDetail.do?batchId=" + batchId
+ "\">" + batchId + "</a>";
  };

var columnHeaders = [
     {key:"batchNumber", text:"<br>Batch Number", type:"link"},
     {key:"dateProduced", text:"Date Produced", type:"Date"},
     {key:"datePrinted", text:"Date Printed", type:"Date"},
     {key:"dateMailed",
        text:"Date Mailed",
        type:"text",
        editor:"textbox"},
     {key:"Count", text:" Count", type:"Number"}
];

var columnSet = new YAHOO.widget.ColumnSet(columnHeaders);

<%= request.getAttribute("javascriptArrayData") %>

var dataSource = new YAHOO.util.DataSource(batchData);

dataSource.responseType = YAHOO.util.DataSource.TYPE_JSARRAY;

dataSource.responseSchema = {
     fields:
["batchNumber","dateProduced","datePrinted","dateMailed","Count"]
};

var dataTable = new YAHOO.widget.DataTable("editing", columnHeaders,
dataSource
     ); // This line produces the event error

YUI Slider Control does not have a built-in labeling system; labeling, if you wish to add it, is simply a matter of putting your labels on the page alongside the DOM elements required by Slider.

dcinteractive123,

If you return false from your labelClick handler, the label will not expand the TreeView node (but the expand/collapse icon will still work as desired).  Assuming you have a TreeView instance called tree:

       tree.subscribe("labelClick", function(node) {
 return false;
       });

tree is to click on the + sign. I basically don't want to label to be
clickable. Is this possible?

Thanks!

haritha_reddy3,

YUI Slider Control does not have a built-in labeling system; labeling, if you wish to add it, is simply a matter of putting your labels on the page alongside the DOM elements required by Slider.

Eric

Hi all,

Can we set labels in sliders?
How can we insert those labels dynamically?

Please help...I am new to Yahoo UI.
Thanks

type is no longer a property in 2.3. You would have to say:

... , formatter: 'link', ...

and

..., formatter:'date' , ..

and make Date and Number lowercase, as above

This example should help:
http://blog.davglass.com/files/yui/cal8/

Basically, wrap the Calendar in an Overlay Control.

Hope that helps :)

Title says it all: I want to position the calender in the center of
the viewport regardless of the page's scroll position.

Any pointers are appreciated, the API isn't obvious about this.
Thanks!
