I've read that this is the correct place to post Yahoo! Shopping API related
questions. If not, please let me know who I should contact. Thanks.
-----------
I've been using the Yahoo! Shopping API for the last 6 months and have enjoyed
working with it. Recently, though, I've found that it's not returning data when
I attempt to load individual product specs using a URL like the one below:
http://shopping.yahooapis.com/ShoppingServ...6&getspec=1
That URL, should load info for "The Lord of the Rings" as seen on this page:
http://shopping.yahoo.com/p:The%20J.R.R.%2...bbit:3005140212
However, it returns an Catalogs XML file with only an empty Catalog element in
it.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give,
Benjamin
How to transfer your existing web domain to a new web domain?
If you already own a web domain and wish to transfer your sites to a new web domain, please follow the following steps. Transferring your old web domain to your new domain basically means transferring all your websites to your new domain.
I don't know about api specific, but all ystoree have xml so you can
fetch and upload data.

I have looked everywhere and can't find any information on how to
automate the actual inventory management process via an API call.
By this I mean a web app I have with inventory information
automatically uploads the stores contents to the Yahoo! store site.
Is it even possible?
Thanks,
Joseph

Is there a link to the API documentation anywhere? It seems like
people on this list keep talking about it but I can not find any info

The documentation is on the YDN site under "Yahoo! Merchant Solutions"
(previously, "Yahoo! Stores"), here:

Hi Arijit,
I'm assuming that you are referring to Yahoo! Merchant Solutions (ie.
Yahoo! Store) and not Yahoo! Shopping.
It doesn't matter how the front end of your store (product
pages/section pages) are developed as long as the form submit HTML is
correctly generated to add an item into the shopping cart of a Yahoo!
Store.
Here is an example:
<form method="post" action="http://order.store.yahoo.net/cgi-bin/wg-
order?storeid+itemid">
<input name="vwitem" type="hidden" value="itemid">
<input name="vwcatalog" type="hidden" value="storeid">
<input type="submit" value="Add to Cart">
<input name=".autodone" type="hidden"
value="http://www.yourdomain.com/itempage.html">
</form>
Replace "storeid" with the "Store Account Name" found in your "Store
Account Info" found in the Store Manager. Replace "itemid" with the
id of the product you are trying to add - found in Catalog Manager.
The ".autodone" URL is used to send the user back to your product page
when they click "Keep Shopping" in the shopping cart.
Note: these items need to already exist in your published Catalog
Manager in order for you to add them to the cart.
Hope this helps.

For an example of a flash app that

Hi Doug,
If you are generating the order submit button from your application,
you can submit hidden inputs that would embed your unique id into the
item's options field during checkout. That unique id will get passed
to the merchant once the order is completed. You'll have to make sure
that the store is set to "Allow for Unrecognized Options"
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/smallbusiness/store/context/context-
30.html, otherwise you can only pass options that pre-exist for that
particular product.
This can't be a unique item that you generate. It has to be an
existing product in the store's product database (Catalog Manager).
However, you can set up incremental pricing for the item based on the
option input
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/smallbusiness/store/edit/regular/regul
ar-17.html.
Hope this helps,

Yes, there are a few ways. First you could use a TEXT statement and
write out another variable with the entire script in it (or script
call to a remote file).
Or if you need RTML to generate the script itself you can use the
TAG-WHEN command (using a test of :t and tag of "script" or "script
src=/lib/xxxxx/etc..."

http://developer.yahoo.com
Grazie
Ellis
I currently have version 2.0 of the Y! store editor and there's no "SCRIPT" type
in the list of
operators.
Is there any way of evaluating Javascript within a template instead of having
javascript in the
head-tags?
Hi,
I've do a category list. When i click on a category i call that
category products list.
At the same time i create the advanced filter, using the category's
refinements.
The problem is this:
Sometimes, when i try to retrieve the category's refinements, i get
an empty xml stream.
I debug the site searching a bug into my code. I've found that the
call to API is the same every time i try, but the result no.
sometimes i retrive data, sometimes no.
The Request Builder in the yahoo developer network do the same
problem.
Is this a bug? did i wrong somethings?
Thank you

I have a similar interest also in a site that I'm currently developing
for my company's merchant site. I need the variable data to be
uploaded to our own ftp site, but the transaction to be handled by
Yahoo Merchant site. Hopefully someone can respond to this need.

I am using yahoo kelkoo API for credit card product.I tried to build a
request on URL:
http://developer.yahoo.com/kelkoo/request.html
Its asking for Tracking Id and Affiliate Key and its says i can obtain

Hi there,
The sample catalog.xml file link on this documentation page:
http://developer.yahoo.com/stores/V1/catalog.html
...is currently broken. Looks like the demo store doesn't have export
enabled.
Could someone fix this?
Yahoo cart can have some javascript 'error-checking' in the checkout
process, that said everything in the cart must be secure including
the images.
The order 'flow' can only post to one server once the order is
completed (ex. ordermotion, stone edge or one of our apps at
http:/www.fastpivot.com)
Hope that helps!

I should first say that I don't have any experience with yahoo store.
I am an accomplished developer, however.
I am trying to figure out if it is possible to do something like this:
- after a client on the store completes an order and gives their
address, credit card #, etc etc. I would like to interrupt the process
and send some information to another server. The other server then
sends back a response and the order either continues on to be processed
normally through the credit card processor or is declined automatically.
It would be similar to hosting a blacklist of bad customers (though
this is not what we are doing) that gets checked before the
transactions actually gets put through.
is it possible to integrate something like this with yahoo store? how
flexible are they ?
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
thanks!
Hello!
Yahoo! is looking for developers interested in participating in a
60-minute-long user research session that will be held at Yahoo!'s
Sunnyvale, California campus next week. If you are chosen to
participate, you will be paid $100 at the end of your scheduled
session. Plus, your participation will help us build tools and
services that are easier for developers to use.
If you are interested in participating, please complete the survey at
http://surveylink.yahoo.com/wix/p4524344.aspx.
Note: This survey gathers personal information needed to schedule
participants. Yahoo! will not release any of the personal information
collected from you, but may share aggregated responses with its
partners pursuant to the Yahoo! Privacy Policy. (Please read Yahoo!'s

Thanks for your help!
Hello,
Apologies for barging in with what might be construed as a bit of an
advertisement. But it's for a free product that integrates with Yahoo, so
hopefully that's ok :)
My company makes a free and open source accounting, CRM, and ERP package called
PostBooks. Version 2.3, just released, includes a tool that takes incoming XML
orders from a Yahoo store and processes it as if it were a sales order from
within the ERP system.
We ran it through some pretty comprehensive testing, but would welcome more
eyeballs on it. If anyone's interested in taking a look, we've got a Flash
video up that shows how it works at a high level:
http://www.xtuple.com/demo/video_files/2300_yah.html
You can download PostBooks for free, of course - it's hosted at
http://sourceforge.net/projects/postbooks
You can also download a fully functional demo of OpenMFG, which is the
commercially licensed cousin that contains more advanced manufacturing and
distribution functionality, at http://www.xtuple.com/download.
We're particularly interested in how we could improved the Yahoo integration, of
course. There's a forum thread on our community website dedicated to this topic
at http://www.xtuple.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1282
Thanks,
Ned
