Hi Art,
i tried what you sent and didn't find the drive when I booted. At least it did
boot! My problem may be that the computer I am using uses a flash memory card
instead of a hard drive. My machine is a DR 1500 From Digirout. Any way,
following are my config.sys and autoexec.bat as I installed them on my computer:
********************************************************
DOS=HIGH,UMB
lastdrive=Z
device=HIMEM.SYS
devicehigh=aspieol.sys /int/all
rem the following is an aspi mass storage driver for usb- connected HDs and
compactflash memory cards
rem devicehigh=USBASP1.SYS /e/v/nocbc
rem uspasp1 ver 2.06
rem uspasp2 ver 1.07
rem uspasp3 ver 2.01
rem uspasp4 ver .31
rem uspasp5 ver .21
rem devicehigh=aspidisk.sys
rem alternative USB drivers:
devicehigh=DI1000DD.SYS/h2
rem devicehigh=aspiehci.sys /int/all
rem device=duse.exe
rem device=USBASPI.SYS
rem device=Di1000dd.SYS
rem device=aspiehci.sys /int /all
lastdrive=z
rem device=aspiohci.sys /int /all
device=aspiuhci.sys /int /all
files=30
buffers=10
stacks=9,256
lastdrive=z
device=C:\NET\ifshlp.sys
************************************************************
And Autoexec.Bat:
path d:\pp\bin\go32v2; c:\
rem @echo off
guest.exe letter=g
c:\mouse.exe
dosshell=c:\
************************************************************
I do appreciate what you did. Please don't feel obligated to work on this any
more.
Thanks
Bud

Bud,
Ok, to make it work here is what I have for an Autoexec.bat file:
rem @echo off
guest.exe letter=E
mouse.com
path=c:\;c:\dos
And for the Config.sys file:
rem device=USBASPI.SYS
rem device=Di1000dd.SYS
rem device=aspiehci.sys /int /all
lastdrive=z
rem device=aspiohci.sys /int /all
device=aspiuhci.sys /int /all
I started out and tested each of the sys files to see which one would
work with my thumb drive. Then remed out the un needed ones so they
would not load and take up memory. Obviously, I have the *.sys file
on the hard drive along with the file guest.exe . I choose to use
drive letter E: for my thumb drive, but obviously; that is your
choice. I also load mouse.com to allow the use of a rat in dos.
Hope this helps, and let me know if I can help further.
