Hi all,
At long last, version 2 of the Yahoo! Media Player has been released
to the official player location at mediaplayer.yahoo.com/js
Now, adding the following code to your site will give you the new and
improved version of the player:
<script type="text/javascript"
src="http://mediaplayer.yahoo.com/js"></script>
All the features described when we first announced version 2 are now
available to all users of the player. Here's a recap of the new features:
* Smaller code footprint
* Faster load time
* Easier way to specify metadata for tracks
* A way to continue the playback experience, when navigating to
other pages
* Asynchronous retrieval of playlist contents
* Support for additional media formats, including WMA, WAV, M4A
(more on the way)
* Support for multiple playlist formats, including XSPF, M3U, ASX
* Display of playlists as "nested" inside the main page's playlist
* Improved ease of customization, including a choice between using
custom CSS colors or full image skinning
* The option by the page author to prevent playback from
automatically advancing to the next track
* The "Buy" button will no longer appear unless either the page
author specifies an Amazon affiliate ID
* Playback support for Rhapsody track links (links that look like
this will be detected by the player and a play button will be inserted
just like any other mp3 link:

To those of you who helped test version 2 out on your sites, thank
you. I also want to give a big thanks to the team who built version 2
of the player: Amit, William, Suman, Mike D, Lino, Douglas and Lucas.
We'll be adding more documentation about v2 to the public wikia over
time. In the meantime, please post any questions, concerns, comments
to this group and we'll do our best to respond.
Thanks
