Hi, I'm not sure that I understand the issue here, everything seems to be
working just fine on your site.
Can you please provide more details on the problem?

I think he is saying that the song or video stop playing when page changes. Is
there a way to have it on top not affected by page change?

It's a site project rather than a player project. You have to do your site
entirely with in-page navigation to avoid interrupting a player.

This is why it's common among music sites to do everything in a single
page, using in-page navigation for 100% of links, or opening links in a new
window.

I keep waiting for somebody to do a Wordpress plugin that enables all-in
page nav. Wordpress for Music.

I see that the italic fix has been deployed, but playlists still aren't
recognized. I'm using firefox, and no play icon shows up next to the link
to an xspf file. When the link is clicked, firefox renders the file as
xml. (If you really need a link to troubleshoot this, I can build one
tonight.)

I couldn't see the link to the playlist, but the player appeared in
maximized state; I picked a track from the playlist and was able to play it.

Be "deleting the blank spaces" do you mean encoding the spaces? Can you
post an example?

I have several links to Youtube videos and the Yahoo webplayer pops up and
starts playing them correctly on desktops, iphone4's and Kindle Fires but not on
ipads. On ipads 2 and 3 the mediaplayer pops up as usual but the throbber just
spins forever and no video plays (the name of the video appears within the
player, though). Audio file links (mp3) that are on the same website work
properly on all devices - including the ipads

As a test I went to Youtube and was able to play the same videos on the ipads
directly..

Any idea why the Youtube videos (both std and HD) do not play on Ipads when
using the latest webplayer?

Note that I even tried running on the ipads at the Apple store and the player
would popup but not play the videos.

I think this is a browser security issue.

The fix is put your local copy behind a local web server and access
via http://localhost.

On the home page of webplayer there is a Zoetrope YouTube video. That also
displays the same problem: I.e., it will play on an iPod or iPhone but. NOT on
an iPad.

Why won't any YouTube videos play via webplayer on any iPad?

I really do hate to complain, because WebPlayer is an amazing, free tool that is
very easy to implement. But as with most things, there can be glitches. I just
spent the better part of a day troubleshooting and chasing false leads because
my files wouldn't play. Maybe I'm missing it, but I couldn't find anything
online that shows file formats supported by WebPlayer. The only mention on the
WebPlayer site is "If your links have a file extension for a supported format
(e.g. .mp3, .wma, etc...)"

"etc.?" Really? After testing, it's clear that .m4a (standard podcast format)
files don't work well. The play button doesn't work. You can get them to play,
but it takes forever, and you have to click the text link—not the play button.

This would have been good to know before I wasted an 80-degree and sunny
Saturday pulling my hair out. Hopefully this post will prevent someone else from
having to figure it out on their own.

It's styled in CSS. Can anyone help? I've tested in Safari and Firefox. Same
result.

Thanks for helping, Wesley. My post didn't appear here on the forum until a day
later. In that time, I figured out the problem myself: The link on the sidebar
(which worked) was pointing to an MP3 file. The links (which didn't work) in the
list were pointing to M4A files. Yahoo WebPlayer instructions vaguely say ""If
your links have a file extension for a supported format (e.g. .mp3, .wma,
etc...)"

"etc.?" It's hard to know from that wording that M4A files are problematic! Once
I replaced all the M4As with MP3s, the links worked just fine. Too bad the
player doesn't support the standard podcast format. Maybe someday...

Craig, I think most people don't have m4a renderers in the browser.
m4a only works inside of Apple's closed ecosystem.

Hey, everyone!

I have a webpage where I need to play a mp3 (Y! webplayer) and also give the
user the option to download it, through a download button. The player works
great until I click on the download button. After clicking it, the player only
work again if I refresh the page.

I have already tried to initiate the download through a php file and through an
anchor link (compressing the mp3 file). On both ways, I get the same problem on
the player.

Have anybody experienced the same problem or can think of a way to solve this?

I appreciate any help!

Nimrod,

is there a fix release for playlists?
You said that it will be soon.

Thanks,

Yes, a fixed as been released a while ago.
If you're still experiencing issues with playlist please provide a link to your
site so I can see the problem.

Thanks.

Hi,
The webplayer will not play the audio. It appears at the bottom and recognizes
the tracks of the playlist, but won't play. It just keeps shows the songs
buffering. This happens in both Explorer 9 and the latest version of Chrome.
However, if I right click the text link for the .mp3s, I can play the songs in a
new window without using media player.

I have tried with and without <audio> tags. Here is html file without the css
code to position the image and text. I have the audio tags commented out.

Thank you ahead of time for help.

Tell me I do not understand what the problem is ..
In all browsers .. "An error occurred and we`re not able to play this item"
That's what shows FireBug http://clip2net.com/s/2aRR2

Is there somewhere to find help with the issues I am having?
The basic documentation is good as far as it goes, but I am having
issues with the Player just buffering and not playing as everyone else is. Also,
I have to requests.
1. I'd like to have the Player come up full size in the center of the page, not
as a small bar in the lower left hand corner that gets bigger and stays anchored
in the lower left hand corner. I don't know enough HTML to put it where I want
it on the page, inside a frame.
2. I'd like to get rid of the anchor buttons on the top of the page as long as
the list of the multiple mp3's is showing inside the playlist and I won't be
needing the buttons anyway.
Any coding examples would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
