Is there any way with BOSS API to prevent copyrighted images from appearing in
search results?

I've tried simple stuff like adding '-copyright' or '-"rights reserved"' to
queries, but these phrases don't appear to be indexed even when they appear on
referring page.  For example,

http://www.flickr.com/photos/urloth/2195542225/

contains the phrase "All rights reserved", but images from this page still
return for the query:

http://boss.yahooapis.com/ysearch/images/v1/Gensler+-rights+-reserved?format=xml\
&dimensions=medium,large,wallpaper,widewallpaper&appid=<omitted>&count=20

Is there some other effective way to omit copyrighted images from results?

Why can nobody help me? I just want to know where I get the yahoo ads. Its works
on www.yougoo.fr. Is that top secret?

I am developping a website using the BOSS API. I notice that The answers of the
BOSS API are slow to come. We are using ads from yahoo too and the result is :

Average time to get content from Yahoo BOSS API : 2 seconds

Average time to get ads from Yahoo : 0,2 second

We are in contact with  Cedric Lynam and Ashim Chhabra and we would like to know
why it is so slowly.

Hi,

I see there are earlier threads about including a date range or "latest so many
days" type of web search. Is there any update on whether these are going to be
added, and if so, roughly when ?

I am looking to start a service that can only work if this is implemented. For
the search terms I am looking at, without some sort of date filtering, I would
be getting possibly more than a million results, so re-ordering received results
by date is just not feasible.

I was hoping to see this functionality. Would you kind Yahoo folks please
announce new releases in this forum, including a link to whatever documentation
exists. It's the only thing that gets pushed out to everyone. It may just be me,
but ocassionally I feel a little disconnected with the little changes.

For example, a search for intitle:[christmas gift] returns:

BOSS: 56,683
Yahoo: 1,290,000

Is it possible to use BOSS to search for only "pages from" a specific region? I understand how to use the region and language parameters, but these still search the whole web and do not filter down to a specific region.

For example:

Yahoo Singapore, searching "the web": http://sg.search.yahoo.com/search?p=singapore&rd=r1

Yahoo Singapore, searching "pages from" Singapore: http://sg.search.yahoo.com/search?p=singapore&rd=r2

Can someone let me know if this aceivable with the cureent version of the API?

This is a real problem..
Try to search on any Boss search engine like Hakia for these keywords like
'health' .. Some title are showing up as just some numbers like 1862 or 4363
like my earlier examples [see below].
Any idea?

Can you put multiword queries in quotes within the parentheses?  eg. ("hot dog" "hot dogs")

But to accomplish this same boolean query for news queries, you instead space-delimit the terms within parenthesis, such as:

The results of BOSS api and the Yahoo! web search service are different for first 100 results (at least, as i'm currently using only first 100 results) for the same query.
Tried for the query "bank".
What are the reasons?

Can you only search certain websites?

1. When is the new fee structure going to be introduced? We currently see this fee structure as a positive as long as it is accompanied with a service level agreement covering latency and guaranteed uptime.
2. We are quite puzzled about hot to go about monetizing a search product which uses Yahoo BOSS. There doesn't appear to be anyway to incorporate Yahoo's apt into such a product nor Google's Adsense. What advertising services are available to publishers who need search based ads? We are after something similar to the "Sponsored Links" that appear with search results from http://hakia.com

i want to find the intersection of the 2 queries "apple pie" and "convection oven", not 2 separate queries. in other words, i want to be able to get all the pages that are relevant to both "apple pie" *and* "convection oven."  is it possible to stitch these into one search string?  alternatively, can i do one search then refine it?
