Congratulations to Martin Ward for
a very impressive solution to problem #14 using packed decimal to handle higher
value Ackerman functions with up to 15 digit solutions. I also
posted my recursive macro code only solution which only handles up to 32 bit
integer solutions.
A new problem #16 requiring
routines to store and fetch bits to/from bit array representing numbers
submitted by Jim Connelley has been posted. Thanks Jim. For
the old timers this may remind you of how cool it was when HASP (Alias JES2) came
out to speed up OS/PCP/MFT/MVT spooling using a bit array in memory to handle
allocation of spool tracks as opposed to updating every sysout file in VTOC.
